Imagine being able to take long-exposure photos with the camera in your hand, intentionally blurring moving subjects, without having to use a tripod. Or shooting incredibly smooth videos while moving with the camera. The in-body image stabilizer (IBIS) in the EOS R7 offers many new ways to be creative and may make you rethink how you use the camera system.

Images Stay Stable Even When You Move

The camera's IBIS system works in collaboration with the built-in optical image stabilizer in many of our RF lenses. Thanks to the extremely fast communication speed of the RF mount and its large width, stabilization equivalent to up to 7 stops can be achieved with the RF-S 18-150mm F3.5-6.3 IS STM lens and up to 8 stops with other RF lenses, allowing stable handheld photography at long exposures with no camera movement.

And when shooting with lenses without image stabilization (such as fast prime lenses), the large size of the EOS R system's lens mount allows the camera's built-in image stabilizer to still provide very effective stabilization against camera movement.

Perfectly Stable Videos

During video recording, the IBIS and optical IS systems are complemented by a third technology, the digital image stabilization system for movies. Together, these systems mitigate camera movements to such an extent that you might think the footage was shot using a gimbal.

Breathtaking Speed and Performance

The perfect photographic moment can last only a few fractions of a second, which is why we designed the EOS R7 to be exceptionally fast. Record RAW, JPEG, and HEIF files at an astonishing speed of 15 fps – or up to 30 fps when using the camera's silent electronic shutter – with continuous autofocus and exposure that react consistently as you shoot. The 1/16,000 second shutter speed with the electronic shutter reveals details that are often not visible to the naked eye.

Built to React Quickly

The camera's DIGIC X processor provides agile and dynamic handling, virtually eliminating the viewfinder lag for a truly fast shooting experience. Up to 42 RAW files and 126 JPEG files can be recorded in a single burst at 30 fps.

Natural Motion, Perfectly Captured in Videos

For video, frame rates of up to 60p in 4K format and up to 120p in Full HD recording are available. Capture moving objects with incredible precision and create slow-motion effects in post-production.
